Meet GERTRUDE

When you look at this girl you just see a fading, grey faced dog that looks to be older.  Honestly our Gertrude is only 7-8 years old and she has the spunk of a 3 year old.  This Lab mix girl is only 44 pounds and not really that old.  Just a maturing girl that loves the great outdoors, walking down the street stylishly on a leash and she embraces all other dogs and cats in her life.  This girl was an outdoor girl kept in a pen we believe.   Her chiseled down teeth tell us that she lay in that pen bored and anxious to get out and so she chewed on the metal wiring of the kennel.  She is truly a calm girl that does love to kick up her heels in the fenced yard at her foster home.   Gertrude is very loving and smart and alert to all that is around her.  She is gentle, calm, in touch with her surroundings and her foster mom says she is just the best mature dog ever.  Gertrude is that old fashioned kind of girl that would be the best companion to anyone that appreciates the beauty of age and wisdom that comes with it in a dog.  She loves sleeping on the bed, chilling at your feet as you work at the computer and will sit right next to you for a good movie or football playoffs!  She might not be a runway model anymore but she sure is the definition of an “aging, fine wine” in a dog.
