Meet SPENCER

Why is this boy still here! Staff keeps asking that question. SPENCER is one fabulous male in a litter of four male puppies that arrived together at the shelter the latter part of February 2023. They were listed as Lab mixes and were 6 to 7 weeks of age at intake. All four of them have stub tails and all four are black with minor white markings. Unfortunately, they were put on a court hold for months in 2023 until the case against their owner could be resolved. That was finally done and one of the dogs was adopted, but the other three remain kenneled together and have spent their first year and a half of life at the shelter. SPENCER is the dog on the left in the photo of three of the dogs together. He still needs to be neutered before he can go home with you as your own. And he does still need to be leash trained. Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared!

Adoption Process
Adoption contract, Adoption fee of $50 per cat and $80 per dog set by county commission and subject to change, drivers license and cash or check only. The adoption fees currently cover most, but not all, of the spay/neuter cost incurred by the county.
