Meet Farina
Farina has been waiting for a home for over a year now! We're not even sure why other than she is one of hundreds of dogs in the Chattanooga area rescue system who are also waiting. She is a 2 year old Boxer mix that weighs 50 pounds and, as you can see, she has the most adorable underbite. She was surrendered to a county shelter very pregnant and gave birth to 8 puppies 2 days later. We were happy to give them all a safe place to go so they joined us at PPC when the puppies were only 6 days old. We still have one of her puppies available (Petey) who has also been waiting for a long time.Farina recently went on Local 3 Plus You and showed her lounging personality on the big screen. We'll share the video when it's available, but for now, here is more about this special girl...Farina is a princess and absolutely will not join you on outdoor adventures. So, that means she’d be a fabulous companion to a fellow homebody like herself OR, she’ll snooze while you get your outdoor activities in without her. She loves her stuffy toys and will carry them around in her mouth when she is feeling playful...and when she sleeps, she sleeps hard! You could seriously vacuum around her and it wouldn't disturb her.Farina is insanely friendly. To all humans. LOVES them. Never met a stranger…..for real. She's goofy, charismatic and loves a belly rub. She sits like a human in a chair and can hang and listen to any and all conversations, watch any movie or TV show with you and never complain. She’s truly the nicest person you’ve ever met stuck in a dog body. She does not care for other dogs. Simply keep her home, let her lounge in her own house/ yard and don’t invite your friends dog’s over (but definitely invite your friends over……she’ll welcome them all with open paws!). Farina would truly be one fantastic pal. Hanging with people is her love language. She’s growing weary of life in a kennel (all those other dogs…..bleh) and would love to make you smile every day. The adoption fee is $135 which includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, heartworm test, heartworm preventative, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, & spay or neuter.
Adoption Process
Adopters must fill out an application/questionaire before being approved to adopt. If approved, they pay a $90 fee that covers the spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, dewormer, flea tx, heartworm tx for dogs, and an FIV/leukmia test for cats or a heartworm test for dogs. They must sign a contract that they will follow our requirements (dogs not to be kept on a chain, cats not to be declawed and must live indoors only). If the adopters choose not to keep the pet for any reason, it must be returned to us.
