Meet SQUIRREL
SQUIRREL is still young at about 6 to 9 months of age. She weighed 34 pounds during her intake process early in March 2025. She leaps for joy when one of the staff walks past the front of her kennel. So, she is friendly and anxious to find a new home. She is tan with some brown and white markings and has a lot of energy that she cannot really run off very well in a kennel at the animal shelter. She is lucky to have one of the kennels that has both an inside space and an outside space. However, she came in alone, and staff has not yet had time to test her with other dogs given her short stay there so far. If she is there for very long, they will find time to test her and see if she is suitable for a kennel mate. In the meantime, she has not yet been spayed and that must be done before she can go home with you as your own. Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared!
Adoption Process
Adoption contract, Adoption fee of $50 per cat and $80 per dog set by county commission and subject to change, drivers license and cash or check only. The adoption fees currently cover most, but not all, of the spay/neuter cost incurred by the county.
