Meet BRIDA (spayed)
BRIDA arrived at the shelter in March 2024, emaciated, with these beautiful, sad eyes. Staff put a note on the front of her kennel that the daily crew was to give her several small bowls of food each day to help her put on weight. It doesn’t take any time at all, once animals like BRIDA arrive at the shelter, before they realize that they are being treated with the very best of care. BRIDA is listed as a Boxer mix and she is estimated at one to two years of age. She weighed only 37 pounds at Intake in March and obviously weighs a little bit more now. Thankfully, she was selected to go through her spay surgery during the trial run of the new spay/neuter clinic in town. As a result, she can go home the same day that she is adopted! Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes taking a dog collar and leash with you to the adoption appointment in case you do decide to adopt BRIDA. Even better, take a dog crate with you to that appointment. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially in animal that you have just adopted! Safety first!
Adoption Process
Adoption contract, Adoption fee of $50 per cat and $80 per dog set by county commission and subject to change, drivers license and cash or check only. The adoption fees currently cover most, but not all, of the spay/neuter cost incurred by the county.
