SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners. We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health. We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes. We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

Meet Kirby

LOCATION: Wilmington, NCDOB: 9/15/2021Meet Kirby, the Goofy and Loving Great DaneIntroducing Kirby, a wonderful dog with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. Kirby is great with dogs of all sizes, both in public and at home. While he’s unsure about cats and tends to bark and chase them, he’s phenomenal with kids. Having lived with 4-year-old twins, Kirby is gentle and loving, though sometimes clueless about his size!Kirby is leash trained, though he might pull a bit, and he’s also crate trained and enjoys car rides. He’s fully housetrained and knows how to let you know when he needs to go out. In new situations, Kirby can be a bit shy, but his goofy energy quickly shines through, especially when he gets to run and play.Kirby has Addison’s disease, a condition where his adrenal glands don’t produce enough hormones. Fortunately, it’s managed well with medication, allowing him to lead a happy and active life.If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and goofy companion who will bring joy and laughter to your home, Kirby is the perfect pup for you. Are you ready to give this sweet boy the loving home he deserves? All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted.
