SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners. We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health. We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes. We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

Location: Local or out of state Foster to adopt encouraged! VEGAS, 4 years old, neutered, hw- and has his vaccines. Needs to put on some weight which we will get a feeding plan once he is in a foster home. He was with a breeder who passed away, he’s a European import, once he fills out he’s going to be a big boy!He is great with female dogs and neutered male dogs. He once saw a cat and didn’t attempt to hurt it but hasn’t ever lived with one. He does have 2x bites on his record. Both involved kids coming up to him when he was sleeping/laying on ground and it startled him. A home with no kids is required. At home he is not destructive at all. He loves his crate just needs a treat to go in if you are leaving (he knows the system now) but willing sleeps in there at night even if he has a big comfy dog bed to sleep on. He is 100000% Velcro and wants to be anywhere you are. Loves his naps and very calm demeanor. Not a fan of squeaky toys at all or fetch or tug of rope. He is more of let me chew on a toy in peace kind of dog. Potty trained and amazing on leash. His parents are devastated but he needs a home where he can nap in peace and quiet. Please consider opening your home up to this big guy!Foster application: https://form.jotform.us/60263115921144For more information, please email us at [email protected].
