Meet Aria
Meet Aria! This little puppy was born around August 2024. She looks mostly Great Pyrenees, maybe a little mixed with Laborador Retiever. She has cutely cocked ears and a shorter smooth coat. She’s on the small side for a Pyr, and could weigh around 50-60 pounds as an adult. Aria’s nickname is “Little Blep,” because every time she's nervous or unsure, she sticks her tongue out and just leaves it there. It's absolutely adorable and everyone loves it! She's sweet, polite, and cautious with people. She is good with kids. She seems to enjoy tame games of chase with her people (although some dogs find this game unpleasant). When people tenderly chase her, she runs around jumping and getting close, then dodging away. Aria needs a home that is patient and accepting of a more hands-off dog. She prefers hanging out with her dog companions over her human companions. She loves laying on beds with her humans and hanging out nearby, but isn't a fan of cuddling. Aria will be a great doggy for another dog looking for a friend. In her forever home, she must have a playful doggy buddy that is a nice, confident adult dog. She's very shy and nervous at times and needs a good role model to show her how to be her best self. She loves playing with other dogs and needs a dog willing to play with her on a regular basis. We haven’t seen how she is with cats, but we can test her if needed. She knows commands for sit, lay down, and circle. She is very food motivated, so she trains easily. She is getting better on leash every day; she is a little nervous about visiting new places, but she loves meeting all the new people. She knows the “crate” command, and sleeps well in her crate at night. She is getting used to car rides; she is a bit nervous, but enjoys a good pup cup every chance she gets! Still in her puppy stage, she is perfecting her potty skills and needs frequent access outside to continue her training. She hasn’t been much of a barker so far. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL, DOGS. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 2) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone MUST also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8-10 hours a day. It is not a good situation for you or the puppy. 3) You must have plans in place to socialize your puppy properly. 4) Our puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. Please watch this short video which demonstrates how puppies learn polite behavior from their adult dog mentors. https://youtu.be/R6N8STRl2aI0 SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere.
