SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners.We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health.We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes.We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

Winnie(Formally Pontoon, Ocean’s sister!)DOB: April 2023Location: Vista, California 2 years old, spayedPittie, bulldog, lab mix per siblings DNAGoing to vet soon for annual and will ask about fluoxetine to help her anxiety.Speaking of anxiety! Winnie is an adoption return who is looking for a low key home that’s experienced in helping very low confidence and fearful dogs become their best self. She is going to take someone dedicated. She is so scared to the point of nervous peeing and shaking with fear.Dogs: yes dog friendly. Gets nervous meeting them but with slow intro does great and likes to play.Kids: gets along with the ones in her home but we will need to place her in a home without kids due to her behavior.Cats: lived with a cat with previous foster (puppy) with no concerns but hasn’t met one again.Notes from adopter who is returning:barks non-stop if she sees a neighbor or is "alone" in the house (even if I'm home but working in my office) destructive if left out of crate. —> Ok in crate but owners don’t like to crate her because their other dog doesn’t have to be in one.-Will growl at people she doesn’t like. —> we think this is fear based.Winnie knows how to use a dog door and is potty trained unless scared. For her fear reasons no apartments or town houses. Doesn’t like loud noises or cleaning equipment and men in hats. Doesn’t like to go on walks in town but in the woods/ alone/ secluded is fine. No resource guarding seen. SNUGGLE CHAMPION!! In bed and on couch. Thinks she’s a lap dog. Really sweet girl and loyal to her family. Is a ninja when she plays and is also part kangaroo. She can jump really high and likes to go on the kids playground.
