Meet Dougie

Dougie is a sweet and calm 12-year-old Cocker Spaniel looking for a loving home where he can enjoy his golden years in peace. Though Dougie is blind and deaf, he doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. This gentle soul is all about finding cozy spots for a relaxing nap and spending time exploring his backyard, where he loves to sniff around and feel the world through his other senses. He enjoys going for walks and, despite his lack of sight and hearing, Dougie still gets excited about exploring the world outside. His leash walks are calm and gentle, as he takes his time and moves at his own pace. Dougie is also dog-friendly, so he would love to have a furry friend in his new home to keep him company! Dougie is currently recovering from an enucleation (removal of his eye), so he’s available for pre-adoption or foster-to-adopt until he’s fully healed. He may need some extra TLC during his recovery, but he’s a resilient and loving companion who will bring so much joy to your home once he’s feeling better. As a Cocker Spaniel, Dougie will require regular ear cleanings and grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best. But with his calm nature and easy-going personality, he’ll make grooming a breeze! If you’re looking for a laid-back, loving companion who enjoys the simple things in life, Dougie could be the perfect fit for your family. Give him a chance to find his forever home, and he’ll repay you with endless love and loyalty. You can follow Dougie's rescue journey at @wolffpack20 on Instagram. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs eight years and over is $100 unless specified otherwise. You can view all adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallaspetsalive.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/ .
