Straydog is a No-Kill Dog Shelter and Sanctuary located 70 miles SE of Dallas. Partner with Straydog and our mission – To rescue and rehabilitate homeless and abandoned dogs in a no-kill environment until each is adopted into a caring, loving home; and to act as a sanctuary for those dogs who are never adopted. Because of our location, we are able to provide forever homes in our sanctuary to any rescues who do not get adopted. We believe in the total care of the animal forever and always.

Meet Dexter Duck

Hi!  My name is Dexter Duck and I had a rough start in life.  I was found along with my 6 siblings hunting for food along a country road in East Texas when we were just a couple of months old.  A kind woman rescued me and took all of us to a vet because we had a very bad skin condition. Straydog came to the rescue when the Good Samaritan could not afford our care.  All of us are now healthy and I am told I am very good looking with my beautiful brindle coat.  They think I am a mix of Black Mouth Cur and Carolina Dog and a perfect size at about 30 pounds.  I love to play with other dogs, kids and all adults  I can't wait to find my forever home and give my new family kisses and hugs.

Adoption Process
1. Application 2. Home Visit 3. Contract 4. $175 fee includes shots, spay/neuter, and heart worm prevention
