Dallas Australian Shepherd and Herding Dog Rescue

What was once a group of neighbors who shared a passion for our dogs and socializing with them and one another -- DASH -- is now an official non-profit organization sponsored by a private foundation and the generous donations of friends, family, previous adoption clients and Dallas-area dog-lovers who share a mission: to help us find a home for every lost, neglected, abused or abandoned dog.

APPLICATION REQUIRED from www.dashdog.org  Adoption Fee $350 - the fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE and is not specific for any dog or puppy; it goes to the expenses of the organization as a whole* OUR APPLICATION IS ON www.dashdog.org and must be completed in order to set up a meeting. Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME!   Sadie & Bailey We have discussed in detail that these two can stay together or be separated into good homes; please don’t disregard one because of the other! They’ll BOTH get great homes! Sweet and Sassy is a 1-yr-old is a happy, healthy medium-energy Aussie mix-Border Collie mix. Sadie and her Mom , Bailey, are both in need of new homes. While they’ve always lived together, Sadie is Bailey’s mama, their owner believes they’ll be fine if adopted separately to “the best matched forever homes.” The Girls are in need of rehoming because the farm they grew up on (as indoor pets) has been sold - and their people-parents see they’re not happy in a smaller space. Additionally the owners work longer hours farther away; they sought DASH’s help to find a home OR 2 homes where they’ll have the room to run and play like they’re used to. Sadie’s energy level can be as high as 6/7 and with freedom to run she can get the occasional Zoomies - but she also likes to cuddly and be calm by her humans, getting scratches and belly rubs. She also loves canine-companion playing and also likes outdoorsy fun like long walks, hiking, swimming - whatever is offered! Sadie is also good with adults, kids and other dogs. She may exhibit anxiety initially with car rides and loud sounds. Regardless which or both adopted they, like all new rescue dogs, need time to decompress and be with their new families! Sadie is gentle and good with adults and kids; she also gets along with other dogs. Both girls need space to play and/or highly active humans. We are seeking a mature home where either or both girls can be themselves and get the continued love and affection they are used to. Please complete our adoption application on the site below and TEXT US:Sara: 214-549-9905Grace: 469-909-8942So we can check your apps! www.dashdog.org General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $350 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD.

Adoption Process
Potential adopter must fill out extensive application. We then coordinate a time to meet them with the dog they'd like to see. They sign a contract and the fee for our dogs is $450.
