Dallas Australian Shepherd and Herding Dog Rescue

What was once a group of neighbors who shared a passion for our dogs and socializing with them and one another -- DASH -- is now an official non-profit organization sponsored by a private foundation and the generous donations of friends, family, previous adoption clients and Dallas-area dog-lovers who share a mission: to help us find a home for every lost, neglected, abused or abandoned dog.

APPLICATION REQUIRED from www.dashdog.org  Adoption Fee $450 - the fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE and is not specific for any dog or puppy; it goes to the expenses of the organization as a whole* OUR APPLICATION IS ON www.dashdog.org and must be completed in order to set up a meeting. Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME! We can’t believe we still have Heidi! She’s one of the best, most versatile Aussies Ive ever had. Loves everyone she meets, great single buddy and terrific canine playmate. Blue Merle w Golden fur!  Happy Hippie HEIDI HEIDI is an adorable petite 4-year old, 35-lb blue merle Mini Aussie who is playful and sociable and looking for a Forever Family. Heidi has a perfect mixed energy level; she loves going on runs, chasing toys, exploring new areas, going on car rides, and basically any other excuse to get out and do things. HOWEVER, Heidi can also be CHILLED OUT, cuddly and huggable when it’s time to change pace. She is a very affectionate little dog. After long walks or runs she loves taking a nap and getting petted. Heidi loves her toys, romping on her fuzzy beds and rearranging her blankets. Her favorite toys are unstuffables with squeakers and any type of ball. Heidi loves to please, she will try any new tricks and loves dog-specific puzzles to keep her mind occupied. Heidi does well with other dogs in secure off-leash situations. She’s very interested in other dogs while on walks, she is eager to meet and greet and play, but her barking may need quick corrections. She’s very smart and eager to please so any owner with breed experience will find her a pleasure. We are seeking breed-experienced owners in a house with a yard for Heidi to romp in. Though she’s well-socialized with other dogs outside of the home and visitors she would prefer to be an only dog getting affection from everyone in the home. Heidi has never lived with kids but we have been testing her thresholds for being “annoyed” haha and she shows no aggression at all. She could be a great dog for older aussie-savvy kids. Heidi loves her human-bonding time and is used to having at least one person home most of the day; her best behavior comes from the security of her people, their love and attention. If you think your home is a match for this peppy, perky, loyal lover girl please complete our application on the website below, then TEXT SARA: 214-549-9905 &MALIA: 817-681-9853 so we can check your application and get back to you! Thank you! www.dashdog.org We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD.

Adoption Process
Potential adopter must fill out extensive application. We then coordinate a time to meet them with the dog they'd like to see. They sign a contract and the fee for our dogs is $450.
