Almost Home Pet Rescue

We are a foster based, no kill and all volunteer rescue. We are dedicated to saving as many lives as possible from Houston's street and high kill shelters. All of our animals live in foster homes until they are adopted, we can therefore tell you a lot about their personality, likes/ dislikes and any training.

Meet CROISSANT

Est dob: 2/28/23,  expected to be a medium to large adult , neutered, chipped, and UTD on vaccinations  Croissant was found abandoned outside a neighborhood, he was skin and bones but a kind person picked him up and took him straight to the vet. He is a very sweet affectionate boy who loves to be with his people and other dogs in his foster home. He has been doing great at learning to be house trained using a doggy door and learning basic commands as sit, stay, wait, potty time, and kennel. He sleeps all night in his kennel and even goes in there to lay down when he is tuckered out from playing. His favorite game is fetch he will run after the ball and bring it back to you, we are working on him actually giving up the ball for another throw. Due to him fending for himself at such an early age he eats using a puzzle bowl to slow him down and actually chew his food, he will grow out of this once he realizes he no longer has to fend for himself. He has no aggression at all just super excited every time he eats which is fun to watch how happy he is. He plays well with the dogs in his foster home, he is not overly playful just a typical puppy wanting to play tug, fetch, or play with his toys. In the evenings he wants to curl up on your lap and snuggle. He loves to rub up on you like a cat for your attention which we think is adorable, he will make a great family pet. Croissant is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children/teenagers that he does well with. We are looking for a home where someone is home a majority of the time and there are no children under 5. Please consider making this handsome boy a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we do require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at : and https://almosthomepetrescue.org/apply-now-1   $200 (including tax) adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates.    If transporting out of state, the total adoption cost will be $500. This amount is inclusive of adoption fee, transport fee, health certificate, and taxes.

Adoption Process
