Tonya Griffith's Animal Rescue, Inc.

This is a small animal rescue for cats and dogs. I have several foster homes in various areas, and I also post pictures for people who need help finding a home for their pet, which many times has been successful. The pet doesn't have to enter a rescue or shelter and the owner is contacted, so they decide who their pet goes to. If a person can't send me pictures, and they don't live too far away, I will go and videotape the pet myself to place pictures on the internet. There have been a few pets that haven't been able to find a home through this service, but it depends on what the pet is and who is looking on the internet. When we have space available we take transfers from a local kill animal shelter. We also step in and help people who find themselves with multiple animals and no way to pay to get them fixed. Usually I will get all the females fixed to get their circumstances under control, and in some cases I will also help with donated food when I have extra. If they want to find homes for some of the many pets they have accumulated, then I will place their pictures on the internet for them. We don't euthanize unless a pet is seriously ill.

Meet Bibi

Posted on 7/1/23 and reposted on 6/30/24.  The pictures were updated on 7/3/24.  Bibi was adopted on 2/16/24, and returned on 6/29/24 due to family issues.  Bibi, a Labrador Retriever Mix, was out of time at the Smith County Animal Shelter, so we tagged her.  She is a very sweet and happy dog, that loves attention from everyone, pulls on a leash, so a harness would be good for her, crate trained, good with most other dogs, cats are unknown, house training is unknown, heartworm negative, and she does not dig, but can jump over a 4 foot fence, so she needs a tall fence.  She does tend to jump on me at times, so she may have too much energy for smaller children. She was estimated to have been born around April 2021, and weighed 45 pounds on 4/24/23 when she was picked up by animal control.  She was spayed on 7/5/23 weighing 54 pounds, and weighed 65 pounds on 2/16/24. $25 adoption fee, since donations were made for her vet care.

Adoption Process
Cat adoption fees are currently $25 to $70, which pays for spay/neuter and vaccinations. Dog adoption fees vary from $25 to $115 depending on how much it cost for spay/neuter and vaccinations. Adoption contracts must be signed upon adoption approval and any pet history information is provided with each adoption.
