Meet Astro III

2/23/2025Astro III is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Astro III ! I am a handsome 6 year old fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to me escaping the fence and my family feels it would be best for me to find a family that can better care for me. I am described as friendly, active, smart, protective, playful, and affectionate! I am said to be dog friendly and actually have teamed up with a resident dog to escape the fence in my home. I live with a 2 year old human kid and do well with him. I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. I am house trained, crate trained, and at night I sleep on a dog bed in one of the bedrooms in my home. When the humans are away, I am fine with being left alone. While go outside I am curious what is under the grass and will dig to find out. I also will dig in order to go under the fence and escape my backyard so supervision when outside is recommended. I am afraid of fireworks and loud noises but love riding in the car, any toy that squeaks, running, and playing chase in the backyard! If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

Adoption Process
The Process to adopt a dog through Austin Boxer Rescue is as follows: Fill out an Online Adoption Application below. Your application will be reviewed and sent to a volunteer in your area. The volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit within one week. Normally, a volunteer would come to your house for a home visit, but until further notice, visits are being done virtually. After your home visit is complete and you are approved you can begin meeting dogs. The Adoption Coordinator will assist you in this process. Please note: The application process begins immediately once an application is submitted and approvals tend to occur quickly. Please do not submit an application unless you are ready to take home a dog. ABR does not have the space or capability to hold dogs, therefore, dogs are adopted out on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are not able to proceed with a home visit when contacted by an ABR volunteer then your application will be filed away. We will ask you to resubmit your application if you wish to adopt later date. Every dog adopted will have the following: Current on vaccinations and dewormed Spayed or neutered Will be micro chipped Will be treated for heartworms and/or on heartworm prevention Any additional medical problems will be treated and paid for by the rescue. (Once a dog has been adopted any new medical problems that arise are the responsibility of the new owner) Boxers (1-5 years) = $275 Adult Boxer Mix (1-5 years) = $175 Mixed Puppies (under 1 year) = $250 Pure Breed Puppies (under 1 yr) = $400 Bonded Pairs under 5 yrs (placed together) = $425 Bonded Pairs over 5 yrs (placed together) = $250 Non-boxers (any age) = $100 Senior Dogs (6-9 years) = $175 Boxers Seeking Permanent Fosters or Silver Hearts (10+ years) = NO FEE
