Meet Bailey VI
03/01/2025Bailey VI is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Bailey VI ! I am a beautiful 5 year old flashy fawn girl that is an owner surrender due to changes in my family dynamics and they are unable to care for me any longer. I am described as friendly, active, smart, calm, playful, quiet, and affectionate. I have had other dogs come to my home and visit and have not had any issues but other than them, I have not had much socialization outside of the home with other dogs. I currently live with a 6 year old human and am calm, patient, and gentle with her! I have never lived with a cat and likely chase it so it's probably best that I have a cat free home. I am house trained, crate trained, know basic commands, and sleep wherever I'd like in the home. When the owners must be away and I am left alone, I am ok if indoors. If I am left outside without the humans or while they are gone, I will jump the fence to find them. It is important that I have a secure, privacy fence that I cannot climb over or items I can get on and climb over the fence. While outside I have good behavior and do not dig. I wear a vibration/sound training collar and it helps me to be calm and behave. My favorite things are riding in the car, touch, leaning, affectionate, laying in the sunshine, playing in the water, being near the humans, running, and exploring! I also love playing fetch and am not great at retrieving the ball, but still love the game! If you think I would be a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!
Adoption Process
The Process to adopt a dog through Austin Boxer Rescue is as follows:
Fill out an Online Adoption Application below.
Your application will be reviewed and sent to a volunteer in your area. The volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit within one week. Normally, a volunteer would come to your house for a home visit, but until further notice, visits are being done virtually.
After your home visit is complete and you are approved you can begin meeting dogs. The Adoption Coordinator will assist you in this process.
Please note: The application process begins immediately once an application is submitted and approvals tend to occur quickly. Please do not submit an application unless you are ready to take home a dog. ABR does not have the space or capability to hold dogs, therefore, dogs are adopted out on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are not able to proceed with a home visit when contacted by an ABR volunteer then your application will be filed away. We will ask you to resubmit your application if you wish to adopt later date.
Every dog adopted will have the following:
Current on vaccinations and dewormed
Spayed or neutered
Will be micro chipped
Will be treated for heartworms and/or on heartworm prevention
Any additional medical problems will be treated and paid for by the rescue. (Once a dog has been adopted any new medical problems that arise are the responsibility of the new owner)
