Meet Oleda
Hi! My name is Oleda! I am a 2-3 year old petite flashy fawn girl that previously lived my life as a stray but am now enjoying life in my foster home! I am a happy, charming, loving girl that enjoys sunbathing or napping on the sofa! I have alot of energy that I will burn off by chasing toys, rough housing with my foster fur sister, or jump and trot with joy when greeting the humans! I am house trained, crate trained, and leash trained! I follow the humans and resident dogs everywhere because I don't want to miss out on any fun. If I am laying down, I like to be touching a human or other dog. I am a very smart, obedient girl that wants to please and has already learned basic commands! I love belly rubs, boxing with both of my paws, and gently accepting treats! There are no kids in my foster home but when we have been walking in the neighborhood or at a public park, I have done very well being introduced calmly and kindly to kids! I am wonderful with the resident dog in my home and meeting other dogs on my walks. In regards to strangers that approach us, I am cautious and protective of my foster mom but it appears to be because I see her as my human and person that nursed me back to good health and I want to do my part and protect her. When I am with others, I do just fine and am completely 'happy go lucky' and friendly! If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you! If you're interested in fostering a dog, please fill out the Foster Application https://austinboxerrescue.com/ways-to-help/foster/ If you're interested in adopting, please fill out the Adoption Application http://austinboxerrescue.com/adoption-application/Our volunteers will work with you to find the best dog for your home.
Adoption Process
The Process to adopt a dog through Austin Boxer Rescue is as follows:
Fill out an Online Adoption Application below.
Your application will be reviewed and sent to a volunteer in your area. The volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit within one week. Normally, a volunteer would come to your house for a home visit, but until further notice, visits are being done virtually.
After your home visit is complete and you are approved you can begin meeting dogs. The Adoption Coordinator will assist you in this process.
Please note: The application process begins immediately once an application is submitted and approvals tend to occur quickly. Please do not submit an application unless you are ready to take home a dog. ABR does not have the space or capability to hold dogs, therefore, dogs are adopted out on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are not able to proceed with a home visit when contacted by an ABR volunteer then your application will be filed away. We will ask you to resubmit your application if you wish to adopt later date.
Every dog adopted will have the following:
Current on vaccinations and dewormed
Spayed or neutered
Will be micro chipped
Will be treated for heartworms and/or on heartworm prevention
Any additional medical problems will be treated and paid for by the rescue. (Once a dog has been adopted any new medical problems that arise are the responsibility of the new owner)
