Meet Spicy Pickle

Hi! My name is Spicy Pickle! I am a tiny, beautiful 2-year-old, flashy brindle girl with a ton of personality! I love to run zoomies, leaping over tables and chairs, and work on my speed to everyone's enjoyment! When my foster mom says to stop though I do. I need some polishing of my house manners but, I want to please, and am obedient to voice corrections. I love car rides and will gladly jump in the car and look out the window on your lap! I am gentle with kids and at 35 lbs, I am not intimidating to even little ones. The kids in my foster home love to run and play tug with me and my toys. I hop right onto their laps and love to be held while watching tv with them! I have a soft, play mouth and love to chew on my toys, chase balls, and play tug. I sleep all night in the human's bed, snuggling up close and I never get up during the night. I am house-trained and crate-trained! I love to go places but need some help with my leash manners, I get so excited I pull but, I'm small so it's manageable. And just need some consistent training. I get along well with the male and female resident dogs. The girl ignores me and we tolerate each other. I try to play with the male but due to his age, he doesn't respond much. I need a very slow introduction and would do good by myself as an only dog. I have had a couple of meet and greats with potential siblings and have reacted poorly. My foster mom thinks I'm territorial so I don't like dogs coming in to "my" house. If you would like to meet me we may need to meet on neutral ground or perhaps I could come to your house for a visit? The resident dogs and I eat separately but share toys and beds well so I can get along with dogs it just may take some time and a patient family. My foster mom says my little personality is lovely and so sweet! I want attention and to be with humans as much as possible. I am sometimes shy and have some trauma in my background so I can flinch or react like your going to strike me but, I'm getting more confident and less fearful by the day! I'm usually eager to roll over and let you rub my belly or rest my chin on your leg while you're working. If you are looking for an active, young, sweet girl who can be trained to be your best companion, look no further! Contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!If you're interested in fostering a dog, please fill out the Foster Application  https://austinboxerrescue.com/ways-to-help/foster/   If you're interested in adopting a dog, please fill out the Adoption Application http://austinboxerrescue.com/adoption-application/Our volunteers will work with you to find the best dog for your home.Spicy Pickle is named on behalf of John Rae

Adoption Process
The Process to adopt a dog through Austin Boxer Rescue is as follows: Fill out an Online Adoption Application below. Your application will be reviewed and sent to a volunteer in your area. The volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit within one week. Normally, a volunteer would come to your house for a home visit, but until further notice, visits are being done virtually. After your home visit is complete and you are approved you can begin meeting dogs. The Adoption Coordinator will assist you in this process. Please note: The application process begins immediately once an application is submitted and approvals tend to occur quickly. Please do not submit an application unless you are ready to take home a dog. ABR does not have the space or capability to hold dogs, therefore, dogs are adopted out on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are not able to proceed with a home visit when contacted by an ABR volunteer then your application will be filed away. We will ask you to resubmit your application if you wish to adopt later date. Every dog adopted will have the following: Current on vaccinations and dewormed Spayed or neutered Will be micro chipped Will be treated for heartworms and/or on heartworm prevention Any additional medical problems will be treated and paid for by the rescue.
