Dallas Australian Shepherd and Herding Dog Rescue

What was once a group of neighbors who shared a passion for our dogs and socializing with them and one another -- DASH -- is now an official non-profit organization sponsored by a private foundation and the generous donations of friends, family, previous adoption clients and Dallas-area dog-lovers who share a mission: to help us find a home for every lost, neglected, abused or abandoned dog.

APPLICATION REQUIRED from www.dashdog.org  Adoption Fee $350 - the fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE and is not specific for any dog or puppy; it goes to the expenses of the organization as a whole* OUR APPLICATION IS ON www.dashdog.org and must be completed in order to set up a meeting. Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME! Sweet and Sassy SADIE is a 1-yr-old is a happy, healthy medium-energy Aussie mix-Border Collie mix. Sadie is in need of a perfect new home because the farm she grew up on (as indoor pet) has been sold - and Sadie’s people-parents see she’s not happy in a such a small space. Additionally the owners work longer hours farther away; they sought DASH’s help to find a home where Sadie will have the room to run and play like she is used to. Sadie’s energy level can be as high as 6/7 and with freedom to run she can get the occasional Zoomies - but she also an extremely rare chilled-out 1y Aussie; she likes to cuddle and be calm right near her humans, getting los of petting and belly rubs. Sadie settled down easily once she’s settled in her new place. Sadie would also LOVE a male canine-companion - she’s never been an Only Dog so we are hoping to find her a similar fun loving male dog-Buddy. Sadie also likes outdoorsy fun, long walks, hiking, swimming - whatever is offered! Sadie is A Rare Aussie we would look to place in a home with kids. She’s always been good with kids and has that balance in disposition where she can play or cuddle and remain gentle. Sadie may exhibit anxiety initially with car rides and loud sounds. Another transition means time to decompress and be with her new family. Sadie likes to explore so we definitely need an 8-10ft fenced yard and supervision outside until she’s really feeling “at home.” We are seeking a financially stable and breed-experienced new home for Sadie. She needs  the continued love and affection she is used to. We have Sadie fostering in our home so we can absolutely vouch for her loving nature - and her tried-and-true Aussie trait of wanting to follow her humans wherever they go!  If you match the home we are seeking for Sadie, Please complete our adoption application on the site below and TEXT SARA: 214-549-9905 www.dashdog.org General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $350 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD.

Adoption Process
Potential adopter must fill out extensive application. We then coordinate a time to meet them with the dog they'd like to see. They sign a contract and the fee for our dogs is $450.
