Dallas Australian Shepherd and Herding Dog Rescue

What was once a group of neighbors who shared a passion for our dogs and socializing with them and one another -- DASH -- is now an official non-profit organization sponsored by a private foundation and the generous donations of friends, family, previous adoption clients and Dallas-area dog-lovers who share a mission: to help us find a home for every lost, neglected, abused or abandoned dog.

APPLICATION REQUIRED from www.dashdog.org  Adoption Fee $450 - the fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE and is not specific for any dog or puppy; it goes to the expenses of the organization as a whole* OUR APPLICATION IS ON www.dashdog.org and must be completed in order to set up a meeting. Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME!   Our little Aussies named after “The Eagles” are happy, thriving, healthy and adorable puppies; Walsh, Deacon & Chase are approximately 14 weeks old and came to DASH with their 2-year-old “Dad” Henley.   Henley is VERY CHILL! He’s a quintessential Aussie who prefers to be free in the home following his foster mom everywhere she goes!   Henley has a moderate energy level of 5-6 however this has been his first 10 days that we know of living indoors & having endless human affection.   We are SURE once he is settled into a new home he’ll be ready to go for activities and outdoor fun! Henley is a perfect blend of mellow when you want him to be then up and playful when you’re on the go!   Henley has been fostering with one of the puppies, Walsh, and they love to eat, sleep and play with each other. Now I have Henley in my home with my dogs and he’s been a wonderful loving companion who would be great with a friendly dog but also with any human companion … he’s very very gentle and a rare Aussie I would consider for breed-savvy children.   The 4 dogs are in 2 separate DASH foster homes and ALL are ready for forever homes!    The puppies are typical lively little guys; curious about everything around them and enjoying playing with each other and other dogs. Their personalities are very similar: engaged and looking for lots of cuddling and the chance to wrestle, tug, chase a ball and each other around!    They’re Standard Aussie puppies who could range from 40-50lbs full grown which is actually small for Male Standard Aussies!   If you’re ready to adopt and bring a new fur-family member home please complete our application on the website below, indicate your 1st and 2nd choices of puppy and then    TEXT SARA!  214-549-9905   So I can check your app and get back with you!   www.dashdog.org General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $450 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD.

Adoption Process
Potential adopter must fill out extensive application. We then coordinate a time to meet them with the dog they'd like to see. They sign a contract and the fee for our dogs is $450.
