Rockwall Animal Adoption Center

Legacy Humane Society was established in 2008 as a dog rescue organization run by volunteers and fosters. We take in dogs from EU lists and Owner Surrenders. We have them fully vetted and then we find them homes. We do home check and vet checks on all adopters. The city of Rockwall contracted with LHS in 2012 to take over managing their animals/adoptions. They will maintain animal control and we run their vetting and adoptions. We will screen apps completed at the shelter but we will not be able to due home checks based on staffing constraints. We have 14 employees and funding is done through the city and donations. In Jan 2017 the name of the facility was changed to Rockwall Adoption Center to more clearly divide both sister organizations purpose and services.

Meet Lucky

Hello, my name is Lucky! I am an approx. 3 year old English Bulldog mix that weighs 36lbs. I was found and unfortunately never reclaimed so I was brought to RAC in hopes of finding my FURever home! I am a friendly short rider guy that enjoys easy walks and plenty of nap time. I am suggested for a home with children over the age of 10 years. I have never been around cats so that would be a new experience for me. I have done well with other dogs around my size but a meet and greet is suggested if you have another dog in the home. If you are interested in making me part of your family, please submit an adoption application located here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/. RAC will be in touch with approved applicants in order to schedule a meet and greet. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, up to date on my basic yearly vaccinations, and heartworm negative.
