Meet Ryder

Hi! I'm Ryder! I'm an approximately 1 year old, male, Shepherd/Lab who weighs about 58 lbs. I was found off 549 and 276 in Rockwall County on 12/10/2024 and never reclaimed. I am a fun loving guy who walks well on a leash. I came to the shelter with a few injuries, but was nursed back to health by shelter staff and now feeling great! Don't mind my squinty eye. I have what's called Entropion which is an abnormality of the eyelids in which the eyelid rolls inward causing my eyelashes to scratch against my eye which causes some irritation and making my eye water. I had corrective surgery to fix the entropion on 01/29/25. It will take a couple weeks for my stiches to heal but oh what a relief it is to finally have that fixed! I enjoy the company of people of all ages and dogs both male and female! I do well in my kennel and am confident that I can learn house training quickly. I am a lovable goofball and enjoy running around, playing chase or fetch, and am looking forward to living my best life! I haven't been introduced to cats but if you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along. I love hugs and kisses and being told how handsome I am. I adore affection! My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm negative.
