Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is a foster based rescue group in the heart of Texas that is dedicated to the health, welfare and happiness of our dachshund friends. We have foster families in from San Antonio, New Braunfels, Austin, Georgetown, Kerrville, and other parts of Central Texas. We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. As such, we must rely heavily on donations and contributions, which are a necessity in order to continue to be able to pay the costs of health care, administrative needs, and other necessary expenses for each of our dachshunds. Diamond Dachshund has rescued, rehabilitated and placed approximately one hundred dachshunds each year since our incorporation in 1998. That's a lot of happy, healthy dogs and equally happy families! We strive to find the right home for each dog's individual personality and needs, so that the placement is permanent and both the dogs and the humans who adopt them, are equally happy.

Meet Kris Jingles

Kris is a sweet little boy who loves every person, child and small dog he meets. Some of his favorite things include squeaky toys, cuddling with his humans, outside time and treats! He is about a year old and still very much a puppy. He is mostly potty trained, with the occasional accident every now and then.  Kris has scoliosis which is a curvature of his spine that he was born with.  There’s nothing medically to do about it.  It doesn’t bother him.  He can jump up when he gets excited and he runs around the yard with his foster brothers and sisters!  He was born without very much of a tail.  He has a very small little curly stub! It’s about 1/2” long!! Kris had to have surgery for a hole in his diaphragm.  It’s closed now and he shouldn’t have any more issues with that.  Kris had a bigger issue that was surgically corrected.  The doctors at Mission Specialty Hospital fixed the problem.  Kris doesn’t know he’s different.  He’s the sweetest, most loving, happy boy you’ll ever meet!
