Animal Shelter Volunteers of Texas (ASVT): our motto is "Help Us Help Them". We are an all volunteer animal welfare organization. ASVT has no physical location; all animals live in foster homes until adopted.1. ASVT hosts ADOPTION events at various locations around Montgomery County, Texas.2. ASVT members network with other RESCUE organizations if the dog or cat can be better served by the other rescue.3. ASVT uses donations to TRANSPORT pets to out-of-state rescues and shelters which have high adoption rates and need more adoptable pets.4. ASVT uses donations to pay for the cost of MEDICAL CARE for severely sick and/or injured pets.5. ASVT uses donations to buy SUPPLIES such as crates, specialty pet foods, treats, vaccines, wormers, flea and heartworm preventatives and more.

Meet Bobbi

See my short tail? Either I was born that way, or had a bad time at the hands of the person who dumped my sisters and me on a country road. But never mind that -- I'm loving life now!! It gave me my sassy name "Bobbi"!  My pointed ears show that I have a bit of shepherd in me, but perhaps you can help me find out!  Totally white shepherds are not common, but my coat stays  clean easily,  and I believe you will love showing me off to your family and friends!    Not bragging, but I’m really a Cutie!!       I'm still a little shy sometimes, but will warm up to you quickly with love and treats, and I especially love to snuggle and give kisses.    I like attention and belly rubs, and love to play with everyone.    I’m house trained too!   My foster Mom is impressed at how much I’ve learned in just a couple months!    My sisters and I had a rough start, so be patient with me and I'll return that effort with so much love for you!       

Adoption Process
1. A potential adopter must complete an adoption application (http://www.asvtexas.org/adoption-application.html) 2. The adoption application is reviewed and approved by an ASVT board member. Additional information may be requested. 3. Approved adoption applications are forwarded to the animal's foster, who will contact the potential adopter to arrange a meet and greet. 4. If an adoption is arranged, an adoption contract will be completed. 5. The adoption fee for dogs is $150 and up, $50-$125 for cats, which includes the animal's spay/neuter surgery, a microchip and all core vaccinations, including rabies.
