Meet Luna X

3/30/2025Luna X is an owner surrender looking for a new home.Hi! My name is Luna X! I am a beautiful 3 year old fawn girl that is an owner surrender after my current owner had a change in her financial dynamics and is unable to provide the vet care I need. I am currently on medicine for arthritis and torn ACL's in both rear legs, which will eventually need surgery. I do not let anything shy me away from being a very sweet girl and living my life! I am described as friendly, playful, and affectionate! I do not get along with the 4 year old female boxer in my home, but I do play and get along well with the male chihuahua! I also live with a 5 year old cat and I just lay around and watch it. There are no children in my foster home, so a proper meet and greet would be encouraged. I love meeting people on my walks in the neighborhood and even though I start off shy with the vet, I warm up to them and want attention! I am house trained but will need assistance learning crate training manners if that is required in my forever home. At night I sleep on my bed with my blanket in the living room. When the humans must be away, I am fine being left alone and am not destructive! While outside I have good manners and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, having my chest rubbed, getting attention, twisted rope toys, squeaky and stuffed toys with lambchop being my favorite! I have learned when I want attention, I come to the humans and boop them with my nose. My current owner says it's so cute and I think so too! If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

Adoption Process
The Process to adopt a dog through Austin Boxer Rescue is as follows: Fill out an Online Adoption Application below. Your application will be reviewed and sent to a volunteer in your area. The volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit within one week. Normally, a volunteer would come to your house for a home visit, but until further notice, visits are being done virtually. After your home visit is complete and you are approved you can begin meeting dogs. The Adoption Coordinator will assist you in this process. Please note: The application process begins immediately once an application is submitted and approvals tend to occur quickly. Please do not submit an application unless you are ready to take home a dog. ABR does not have the space or capability to hold dogs, therefore, dogs are adopted out on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you are not able to proceed with a home visit when contacted by an ABR volunteer then your application will be filed away. We will ask you to resubmit your application if you wish to adopt later date. Every dog adopted will have the following: Current on vaccinations and dewormed Spayed or neutered Will be micro chipped Will be treated for heartworms and/or on heartworm prevention Any additional medical problems will be treated and paid for by the rescue.
