Dallas Australian Shepherd and Herding Dog Rescue

What was once a group of neighbors who shared a passion for our dogs and socializing with them and one another -- DASH -- is now an official non-profit organization sponsored by a private foundation and the generous donations of friends, family, previous adoption clients and Dallas-area dog-lovers who share a mission: to help us find a home for every lost, neglected, abused or abandoned dog.

APPLICATION REQUIRED from www.dashdog.org  Adoption Fee $450 - the fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE and is not specific for any dog or puppy; it goes to the expenses of the organization as a whole* OUR APPLICATION IS ON www.dashdog.org and must be completed in order to set up a meeting. Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME! Mighty Mini MILO is a tiny blend of a big personality, playful energy and cuddle-buddy! We’re looking for a Forever Family for him. Milo is super sweet, very energetic and fun, he wants to play and he loves belly rubs! He likes to play fetch, tug of war and chasing his brother around the yard.  Milo knows several commands like sit, go to your room, get down and lay down. He’s working on stay he doesn’t want to stay as much as he wants to be part of the action! Milo is a typical young Aussie puppy; he makes his needs known by barking happily and he always has a smile on his face! Milo is very friendly with people and dogs. He’s housebroken smd crate-trained. Because he’s just a year old he still has puppy traits like chewing; we want an experienced home where someone is home to continue his training. Milo is very smart and eager to please, loves to be taught new tricks or behaviors and perform them to please his people. He LOVES playing with his brother and we hope to find a forever-home where he has a canine companion and playmate. Milo has an energy level of 8-9 but with good walks and playtime he also settles down to snooze a few times a day. He’s a typical 1yo mini herding dog with energy to spend and a quick mind to teach.  We are looking for a Mini American/Aussie-experienced home with active adults and a moderate home energy “vibe.” Milo needs a yard for zoomies, playing fetch and hanging out with his buddy-dog and family. If you’re interested in meeting Milo for adoption please complete our application on the website below then please TEXT SARA: 214-549-9905 So I can check your app!   Thank you!   www.dashdog.org General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $450 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD.

Adoption Process
Potential adopter must fill out extensive application. We then coordinate a time to meet them with the dog they'd like to see. They sign a contract and the fee for our dogs is $450.
