SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners.We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health.We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes.We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

LOCATION: Brookshire, TXDOB: 07/24/2023Meet Delilah, the irresistible Great Dane with a heart as big as her paws!Delilah is a dream come true for anyone seeking a sweet and affectionate companion. She absolutely adores being around the foster puppies, and while we haven’t introduced her to our bird just yet (out of precaution), we know she’s a loving soul. Always seeking affection, pets, and hugs, Delilah is super sweet and loves to be in the middle of the action.This charming girl sleeps with us in bed every night, cuddled up to my husband on his side, under the covers and on her own pillow. She also loves her daily walks and can be found napping in the office on the futon bed while I work from home. On office days, she kennels up like a champ and does really well.One of Delilah’s most endearing quirks is her habit of taking your entire arm in her mouth—she either wants to take you somewhere or play with you, and it’s the funniest thing! She doesn’t like to sit, so she bows instead, making it look like she’s doing push-ups every time she begs for a treat. Talk about a cool trick!Delilah loves rubbing her face on ours and being right in our laps. She has no idea how big she is, or maybe she just doesn’t care. Her bum-thrusting at the vet earned her high reviews—she’s SUCH A SWEET GIRL!She’s our alert dog at home, and we deeply appreciate her vigilance. Delilah’s playful nature shines through, especially when she’s playing tug-of-war or chasing treats.Recently, we had friends over with their two little girls, and Delilah passed with flying colors. She maneuvered around them so well, ensuring she didn’t knock them over. Delilah is ready to find her forever home where she can be both a companion and a safety net. She would love a yard to zoomie in and a dog friend to play with.
