SRGDRR Inc aka Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab

SRGDRR is a 100% volunteer organization. Like all humane groups, SRGDRR is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and Great Dane Mixes, and the people are those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. SRGDRR helps people to:Determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle.Find healthy and companionable dogs that fit their circumstances.Find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep.Become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes.Resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem.Overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet.Stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters.SRGDRR helps Danes:By providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners.We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health.We also supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes.We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.SRGDRR spends an average of $300 per dog that enters our rescue. In order for us to continue providing the best care and vetting for these babies, we need donations and adoptions. Thank you all so very much.

RHETT - ADOPTIONLocation: Lovelady, TexasWe adopt nationwideNeutered male, 3 years old, 130 lbsHad happy tail so tail dockedReally healthy guy and a big boy loverThis big, handsome gentleman is looking for his forever home! Rhett, is a man with manners and will sit, laydown, go to his bed when asked (especially if treats are involved).•He would do best with someone who works from home or is home more than away•He is respectful of the house when no one is home, does not get on the furniture (unless invited) or chew on things, he is NOT a crate dog. •He is potty trained and will go to the door when he needs out. •He is friendly with the other resident dogs. Likes his sisters more. Prefers to eat alone..he was a stray we can’t blame him!•He is good on a leash but likes to explore, he is doing great learning to heal & sit during walks. He isn’t really up for a run but will hang with you for several blocks before calling it quits. •He is good with kids but does zoomie around.•No cats for this guy!•When new people enter the home he can be really frightened and may growl. But you can tell him to go lay down and win him over easily with patience and treats.•When out in public he is much more open to making friends.
