NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 3/23/2025: Angela - female - approx DOB 12/23/2023 - 11.4 pounds - Chihuahua Lady Luck - female - approx 9 years old - 17.8 pounds - Chihuahua mix Pennie - female - 15 years old - 10.2 pounds - Shih Tzu Reason for intake: A former volunteer of ours sadly has the beginning stages of dementia and contacted us for help with her babies. We took them in. She's always taken excellent care of her babies but due to her health has not been able to in the past couple of years. Dementia is a horrible disease, and we hope by taking in her animals it will relieve her of some of the stress this disease is causing her. Pennie is heading to the groomer the week of 3/24/25 and then to the vet for a few things. Angela and Lady Luck will be heading to the vet for spay and everything else they need. Stay tuned. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
Adoption Process
On-line adoption application required. If approved and at adoption we require adoption agreement, spay/neuter contract for puppies/kittens - adoption fees vary from $85 for felines and $150-$250 for dogs (varying depending on age, health, behavior, etc.) Adopters must have responsible dog-ownership history and stellar vet reference if applying to adopt a dog and vice versa for cats.
