Meet Neena

Neena is a beautiful, approximately 1-year-old Shepherd mix with a heart as gentle as her gaze. Weighing in at around 45 pounds, she's a low-energy, mellow girl who's still coming out of her shell and learning to trust the world around her. Neena is shy, submissive, and a little fearful of loud noises, barking dogs, or passing cars — but she's making steady progress every day! Her favorite pastimes include quietly lounging in the yard watching the world go by, curling up in her favorite chair, or soaking up gentle pets and attention from her people. You'll know she's loving it when you see her full-body wiggle and squinty-eyed smile. While she's still building confidence on walks, Neena has excellent leash manners and never pulls. She's crate-trained (though not a fan of going in) and house trained. She can be trusted in the home and has been sleeping in her crate at night. Neena does beautifully with other calm, confident dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion to show her the ropes. She also does well with kids and would make a lovely, laid-back family dog. A yard is preferred (she adores being outside!), but she could adapt to apartment living if she gets enough outdoor time. Neena is still discovering her playful side and continues to grow more confident every day. With a patient, loving family by her side — ideally one that understands shy dogs and can give her time and space to blossom — she’ll make an incredibly loyal and loving companion. Her adoption fee is $200, and she comes spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. If you're ready to give this sweet girl her perfect forever home, apply at https://caws.org/adoption-application/. Note: Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We find the best match for each pet, and applications may take up to 48 hours to process. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-application
