Meet Josie
Josie is a 15-year 42 pound utterly exquisite and divine beautiful tri color Heeler mix. This magnificent lady came to be a CAWS dog after she was abandoned in a shelter, so sad at this time of her life but she is safe now for the rest of her days. She has had a dental with 4 teeth extracted and a few lumps and bumps, sent out for biopsy and all is good, WHEW. She is totally house and crate trained but she does not have to be in a crate too often as her 2-legged foster people work from home and when they do leave Josie can be trusted to be left out. She gets along with all the other dogs in her foster home, male and female, big and small. We are working to get her to lose a pound or 2 but not a big deal. Josie is not a barker, if she is left outside longer than she thinks she should be she may occasionally let out a bark to let you know she needs back in. Josie needs to be in a home with a yard, hopefully with people who are retired or work from home, or she can go to work with her 2-legged people. She does okay in a crate but we do not want her to live in a crate now at this time of her life. She does like to cuddle on the couch and sleep with her 2-legged people, but she is okay with a bed on the floor too some of the time. When Josie first got to her foster home she would not get up on the couch or the bed, it was like she was afraid to, or never had that opportunity in her past, well now she is 150% okay to get on the couch and bed! She gives the softest, gentlest kisses, so dang sweet. Due to her age she should go to a family with no kids or older. If you can give this fabulous little lady a safe and secure home with unconditional love for the rest of whatever time she may have left, please fill out an application for a meet and greet. Josie could most surely have years ahead of her, she has proven to be so stoic and resilient, an utter testament to a brace dog, and we believe with all our heart she has a very precious long life ahead of her, she oozes pure charm and delight Josie should have never ended up in a shelter but she crossed our path and so now will find her furever lasting home that she is so deserving of. She literally takes your breath away.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $100.
