Meet Birdie

Birdie is a 23-lb Chihuahua mix who made her way to CAWS after landing on the euthanasia list at a crowded, poor outcome shelter. Now, she is soaking up her second chance — and she is more than ready to find her forever person.Birdie is as sweet and affectionate as they come. She absolutely adores people and will nuzzle right into you for pets and attention. She loves toys and chews, and she is a natural on the trails — the perfect size to be your travel buddy and hiking sidekick. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and is great at relaxing in the house. That said, she does have some resource guarding with other dogs when it comes to food and personal space. Because of that, she is looking for a home where she can be the only dog. Outside the home, though, when there are no resources to guard, she is friendly with other pups. If you are looking for a loving, loyal, and adventure-ready best friend, Birdie is your girl! Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Birdies adoption fee is $200.
