Meet Rizz

Do you like an underdog, a comeback pup? Then adopt me! My name is Rizz and I have made it through a whole lot to get to Rescue Rovers and find my forever home.   I’m a sweet and gentle 4 year old male terrier mix weighing 22 lbs, and I’m looking for a family that loves to cuddle! I love everyone and am not shy about it, but I’m also not in your face. I just want all the pets and cuddles from whoever wants to give them. I’m friendly with all the dogs I’ve met, but am more interested in the people. I shouldn’t live with cats or small animal as I have a high terrier prey drive for small animals. I’ve chased the cat in my foster home a few times now! I’m very sweet with little kids, but might gently jump up to get some more loves, so I may accidentally knock over little kids.    I’m potty trained, good in the house, and love to carry around stuffed toys. I love to follow you around and get cuddles on your lap. I make a great work from home companion, but also do well in my crate. I’m pretty low energy and easy going, so I don’t necessarily require training, but it’s always a good bonding opportunity. I had to have a minor operation to remove a small lump (non-cancerous) so I got a summer shave down, but normally I have longer terrier type fur and look quite a bit different. You can see an old picture of me before my haircut in my profile.    So what’s my story? I was found hanging out at a gas station. The employees there fed me and eventually a nice lady fostered me and helped me get a ride to Rescue Rovers! I thought I was all safe in my foster home and ready to find my forever home but I guess I must have had a blood clot. My foster thinks I had a stroke, and I was rushed to the vet but there wasn’t much they could do for me. I wasn’t really able to stand or even lift my head much that night. My foster mom thought I might not make it through the night, but boy did I surprise her! Not only did I make it, but I have been bound and determined to get right back to being the best boy! After a week I’m walking and running almost good as new. I still have some weakness in my right legs, but at this rate, I should recover fully, if not dang near fully.    I love to investigate new things and would love to go on adventures with you, or stay in an snuggle. Not much seems to bother me, I’m just an easy going guy with lots more life to live!    Are you ready to meet Rizz and give this fighter a chance?
