Meet Salem

Salem is a 4-year-old Schnauzer/Terrier mix with a heart full of love and a passion for snuggles! This sweet boy thrives on companionship and would love nothing more than to curl up beside his favorite person after a nice walk. While he has a low energy level and is happy to nap the day away, he also enjoys getting outside for a hike or stroll.Salem is crate-trained and house-trained, though he does best when crated while alone to prevent any mischievous chewing or accidents. He’s a smart pup who knows commands like "down" and has good leash manners—though he can be reactive toward other dogs on walks. Salem has shown that he can warm up to other dogs over time, but he needs slow, careful introductions and a patient owner willing to work on his reactivity. While Salem hasn’t been around kids much, he’s very tolerant of people and rides well in the car. He’s best suited for a home without other pets and with someone who can provide him with love, structure, and continued training. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will happily be your couch buddy, hiking partner, and biggest fan, Salem might just be the perfect match for you! Apply today at (http://caws.org/adoption-application) and make Salem a part of your family!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200.
