Good Karma Rescue Inc.

Good Karma Rescue Inc. is a private charitable non-profit 501(c)3 organization.Good Karma Rescue is a small group of volunteers that love animals. Our mission is to rescue, provide refuge, and ultimately to find permanent loving homes for abandoned, stray and neglected animals where they will receive a lifetime commitment of loving care, including appropriate gentle training, exercise, and regular veterinary care. Whenever possible we also assist dogs who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes with their guardians. We are located in Central Vermont, and work with local and national organizations to help prevent needless euthanasia, and companion animal overpopulation. Good Karma rescue supports early age spay/neuter as the most practical and humane way to prevent companion animal overpopulation and needless euthanasia. All dogs and puppies adopted from Good Karma rescue prior to going to their forever home are spayed or neutered. Our organization acknowledges the serious problem of overpopulation of companion animals in this country, and works to prevent unwanted litters. All Good Karma are housed in foster homes where they are provided with attention and all are seen by a veterinarian to insure, as much as is possible, that they are in good health before adoption. All companion animals are spayed or neutered, brought up-to-date on shots, and screened for parasites before being placed in their new homes. When time permits, our dogs are also housetrained and taught basic obedience. All Good Karma animals are evaluated for temperament, and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future guardians. If you are looking for a specific type of dog and do not see it on our website, please email us. We work closely with other rescue groups and animal shelters and may be able to assist you in finding your next furry friend.

Meet Mochi

Mochi is a 5 yr old spayed female 8 lb small mix.   She has lived with dogs and cats and done well. She is used to hiking and running and has basic training. Mochi life has been a bit hectic lately and she needs a refresher on house training once things settle down for her in foster. She loves to cuddle and snuggle. A sweet girl looking for another family. She loves a lap or to lie on your chest. She loves to sleep under covers. She likes to go for a walk or a run. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, though she can be a little bossy sometimes. She is very food motivated. She comes when she is called and can be let out into the yard without a leash.  She is scared of new people and will run upstairs and hide away when new people are in the house. She barks when people arrive to the house or if she thinks there is an animal outside. Currently she has become quite anxious and has been having episodes of incontinence in the house, She is in fact house-trained.  Please submit a completed application on our website with any inquiries.

Adoption Process
Our process involves an application that must be filled out and approved before an appointment can be made to meet the animals. The application includes a vet check, reference check, and verification that an animal may live at current home by home ownership verfication or landlord verification. Most importantly, sometimes we believe a home visit is necessary to make to sure the animal and the adoptee are the perfect match.Once approved, a contract is signed before animals are released into their new home. All dogs adoption fee is 250. Reptiles and other animals are on a case by case basis.
