Meet Nanny

Meet Nanny – A Survivor Ready for Love Nanny is an 8-year-old Rottweiler with a heart full of love, despite the hardships she has faced. She was originally found in heartbreaking circumstances, living alone in a shipping container at a truck stop in Texas. Nanny was suffering from a painful limp, with an exposed wound on her head and ear, but that was just the beginning of her journey. Nanny was moved into what turned out to be a hoarding situation where she was not given the care she so desperately needed. When she was picked up again she was emaciated and several of her teeth were fractured or missing—likely from chewing on a kennel door in an attempt to escape her suffering. But in March, Nanny's luck changed. She was flown to New England through Wings of Rescue and was placed in a loving foster home. Since then, Nanny has been given the care and attention she deserves, and her gentle, loving personality has started to shine through. Nanny is nervous around new people, particularly men, but as with any true Rottweiler the way to her heart is through her stomach. Everyone with treats is a potential friend! Nanny wants to be around her people all the time. Her previous negative experience with being caged means she should not be crated for long periods of time. She will do fine in a home with a relaxed, older dog but would be happy as an only dog as well. She is skittish around loud noises and unexpected movements, so an adults only home or a home with older children would be best.  Nanny is now ready for the final chapter of her journey. Despite everything she’s been through, she remains a sweet, affectionate soul who just wants to be loved (and to be provided with many, many treats). Nanny has proven time and time again how resilient she is, and she is now looking for a forever family who will offer her the security and warmth she’s missed for far too long. Could you be the guardian angel Nanny has been waiting for? Her foster mom would love to tell you more about this incredible dog. Don’t wait—reach out today to learn more about Nanny and how you can be the one to give her the loving home she deserves.
