Meet Butch

Meet Butch! A lively one-and-a-half-year-old American Pitbull Terrier from Los Angeles, CA, whose boundless energy and sky-blue coat with charming white accents make him impossible to miss—and even harder not to love! Butch may be young, but his heart is already full of dreams. Dreams of morning walks, tasty meals, sunshine naps, and snuggling up beside someone who truly sees the best in him. He’s a playful spirit who grew up alongside his two sisters, and now lives with a crew of senior pups in his foster home—though they don’t quite match his enthusiasm for romping and wrestling. Butch is longing for a buddy who wants to play, bask in the sun, and maybe toss around a squeaky toy or two! Weighing in at a sturdy 40 pounds, Butch is a medium-sized bundle of affection who doesn’t always know his own strength—especially when he gets the zoomies or gets excited and starts to jump or nip a bit. He’s still learning how to communicate all that excitement the right way, and would thrive with a family who can guide him using positive reinforcement and patient, consistent training. Butch is currently working on potty training and doing great with a routine—he knows when it’s time to eat, when it’s time to go outside, and when it’s time to curl up and snooze in his kennel (though he prefers the couch, if he’s being honest). He does well when left outside for short periods, but being alone indoors can make him a little anxious, so he needs a family who can help build his confidence over time. One important note: Butch does show some resource guarding with food and toys. It’s not unusual for young pups who haven’t had much, to feel a need to protect what they treasure. With ongoing training, structure, and love, this behavior can absolutely improve. He just needs a caregiver who’s willing to guide him and help him understand that there’s always more love—and more treats—to go around. He’s been described as a lap dog at heart and he loves nothing more than being your little shadow! Affectionate, expressive, and always eager to be by your side, Butch might thrive as the only dog in the home where he can soak up all the attention. Are you ready to meet the playful, sun-loving, snack-protecting sweetheart who just wants to be part of a family? Reach out to [email protected] to connect with Butch—could you be the one to help this big-hearted boy blossom?
