Passion 4 Paws

Mission Statement: Our Mission is to rescue homeless, abandoned, neglected, or abused dogs. By working with committed volunteers, already established veterinarians and trainers, we will nurture, provide medical care, and rehabilitation to these animals while providing a safe and loving "cage-free" environment for as long as it takes to find them adoptive homes. Our Vision: Our vision is to decrease the amount of dogs put to death every year, and prevent cruelty and suffering to all animals. Through humane education via our resources and educational classes, we aim to increase public awareness regarding the over population of adoptable animals in municipal shelters and beyond, and to that end we are firmly committed to:-Rescuing dogs from municipal shelters that are in danger of being euthanized-Educating the public on the importance of responsible pet ownership, including spaying and neutering of companion animals and micro-chipping pets-Advocating for animals through political participation with our Community representatives

Meet Otto

IN VERMONT / AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER TO ADOPT FOR LOCAL ADOPTERS Meet Otto! Otto is 4 years old, male (approx. DOB 2-7-19), 49 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and microchipped. In his current dynamic, this handsome boy is potty trained, house trained, has reliable recall (but will chase yard animals), is very food and affection-motivated, is great at adventure and camping activities, is good with other dogs (doesn't like to share his toys), has been ok with cats (needs time to acclimate then settles in), and has been ok with other animals such as chickens and horses (again, needs exposure and time to acclimate). Otto is GREAT on leash and knows Sit, Wait, Up, Down, Come, and Roll-over! He also gives great high-fives since he is so tall! Otto also is great on car rides including long road trips, is very open to touch, and will let you trim his nails if he is standing! He is good with older kids who are used to dogs (little kids make him nervous). Otto is extremely athletic. He currently can be left in the home uncrated reliably (some counter-surfing has happened). Otto is HUGELY attached to people and is very social. Otto is very motivated by pleasing his person and following commands, LOVES to swim and play frisbee (can catch a rubber frisbee too!!!!!). Otto has gone to work at an amusement park and he is with kids, adults, and new environments frequently. He has been fine with fireworks and thunderstorms (once he knows he is "home"). He would enjoy a home that is active! Stay tuned for more information as Otto is a new rescue!  If you are interested in adopting Otto please fill out an Application at  www.Passion-4-Paws.org  (please make sure you have the Vermont site not CT) - thanks! Please note Fosters have 1st option of Adoption.  Check out his Facebook page (and "Like" us while you're there)!
