Meet SMALL FRY
Name: Small Fry Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 1 year old of 7/1 Best Guess for Breed: Terrier Mix Weight: About 40 lbs Good With: Dogs and people. Small Fry would do best in a home without cats or kids. Story: Small Fry came to us from a local shelter in Maryland. We are just not sure how she ended up in there! Small Fry is a happy-go-lucky pup that loves all people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She can be a bit weary of men at first, but is able to warm up when she is able to trust them. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Small Fry is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. As a young dog, Small Fry will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Small Fry is currently at a board and train and doing great. She is perfect at leash walking, knows her basic commands and is potty trained. With continued structure, training and confidence building, she’ll be your perfect companion. SMALL FRY’S PERFECT MATCH: PERFECT FAMILY: A home with 1-2 adults is ideal. Small Fry is fine with guests though sometimes she needs to warm up to male guests. It’s recommended that she is not housed with cats or small dogs. We do not know how she will do around small children, but can test this for you should you need it. PERFECT HOME: City or suburb is fine. Small Fry is currently doing well in a condo in the city. She’s gotten used to all the sights and sounds, except for the Metro. That’s still a little scary for her. EXERCISE NEEDS: So far, Small Fry gets most of her exercise from playing with her foster and going on neighborhood walks. She adores playing fetch and playing with toys with her foster. Small Fry is great on leash, although she can get distracted by her curiosity in passing humans. BEHAVIOR IN HOME: Small Fry is super sweet and a big cuddle bug. She loves to play but she really loves to cuddle. Her favorite spot is on the couch next to her human - but she’s not clingy. She does well in her own, sleeping, hanging out or playing with a toy. She’s friendly with guests, first giving them a sniff and then asking for belly rubs. Small Fry is quiet and may mildly react to a hallway or outside noise at night. She’s good about going to the bathroom outside. CRATE: Small Fry loves her crate and will sleep and relax there during the day. It’s her safe space. She prefers to eat in her crate also sleeps in there all night long without a peep!
