Meet Oreo
This handsome man is Oreo, yes like the cookie! He is around 3 years old and is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He was surrendered due to being extremely nervous around the baby and being very overprotective and starting to nip when the baby would get loud or cry. He did good in the home with the older kids so we think ages 12 and up would be the best fit. We would want all the kiddos to come to the meet and greet. He is a Border Collie mix and has the energy to match. He will do best in an active family that will take him on lots of adventures and give him time run run run! He is a bit nervous of new people at first and will sometimes do a low growl until he has a chance to sniff them. He has previously lived with dogs that are smaller than him and did good with them. He hasn't been around larger dogs much and has not shown good signs through a fence with them. A dog test will be required with any pups you currently have. He has never lived with cats before and chases the outside cats when he gets the chance. We feel it may be best to place him in a home with no cats. He is housetrained and crate trained. He likes to swim. ride in the car and is ok being brushed and taking a bath. He knows some basic commands such as sit and stay but would benefit from some leash training as he pulls just a bit. Adoption Process
Interested adopters must fill out an adoption application. We verify that current pets are UTD on Rabies vaccinations and spayed or neutered. If the applicants rent we verify with the landlord that they are approved to adopt a pet. Adopters must fill out an adoption contract and sterilization agreement if the pet is not already altered. Pets that are not altered can only be adopted out to residents of Warren County or a surrounding jurisdiction. The adoption fee for cats is $15 and the fee for dogs is $30. The adoption fee does not include the cost of spay or neuter. If the animal is not altered adopters are required to have the pet altered within 30 days of adoption or by the time it reaches 6 months old.
