CALLIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Callie Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua and Jack Russell terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of November 2024 SEX: female Approximate Weight: 12 lbs as of 11/22/24; she's a bit underweight at that weight Gets Along With: Callie does well with other dogs. We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested. We would be cautious placing Callie in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant. Currently Living at: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here Special adoption considerations: When Callie arrived in the shelter, she was scared and shut down. While she has been making great strides, Callie needs to go to a home with a resident dog to help her gain more confidence. Callie is Looking For: Her forever home! This sweet mama did a great job of raising her babies Jack Frost, Jingle, Jolly, Jovial, Joy, Jubilee, and Jumping Bean to be great family pets, and they're off to get their own homes. She's now looking for her own humans so she can transfer all that love and affection to them!Callie is a young girl who hasn't seen enough of the world and is eager to explore it by the side of her humans. Sniffy walks - romps in parks - all the adventures they can dream up - yes, please! Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed (maybe yours will do?) are on her wish list as well. But what she wants most of all is to know she's safe and loved and under her own roof. What do you say? Is this small, pretty girl the companion you have been seeking? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.
