The Animal Protection Society of Durham (APS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been helping animals in our community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. APS relies on donations from caring individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 5,000 stray, surrendered, abandoned, abused and neglected animals we care for each year.Federal Identification Number: 56-1047100

Just look at me! I'm a roly-poly angel that the world doesn't deserve. A pocket pibble of greatest hits: affectionate, playful, excited for life. I'm very friendly and social; I'm quick to say hi and jump up for pets. I love soft toys, food, affection, and LEARNING! I'm like a big squishy sponge soaking up knowledge! I'll need basic training, brain games, exercise, and lots and lots of love. Let's go home right now! Kids: Any age dog-savvy kids; can be jumpy or mouthy Dogs: Friendly sniffing and play, may be too much for some dogs

Adoption Process
Cats: $95 Dogs: $125-$175 Requirements: Government issues ID 18 and older Own home OR live in a place where pets are allowed No past animal about charges Cannot be under the influence when adopting Cannot be adopting the animal as a gift
