Meet Church - At shelter
One of three pups brought to our shelter this weekend, our pups are well-adjusted and healthy little boys. We have seen photos of the mom and pictures of one of the dogs who is most likely the father. Each one of these puppies is so different! While we understand that looks are important to adopters, personality and matching to your family’s needs are also important. The puppies are still pretty young, so we would feel best if they went to a home where there was another dog to be a mentor to them. Here are the personalities: Deacon, with lots of white, has a smooth coat, and is very active. He appears to have an independent personality, loving to play with other dogs, and enjoying being with his litter. He will blossom in a home with older family, but he does need another dog to teach him the ropes. If you want a dog that is gentle and loving, and wants to be on your lap, please consider Church. Church has a wiry coat, very much like his mother’s sheepdog coat, and he has large, webbed feet. He is a snuggler, less intense than his brother, and happy to be with a human. A home with another dog is important for him as well. Preacher shows more of the traits of the Shih Tzu side of his mom. He is shorter legged, still has the wiry type of coat, and has so many wrinkles in his forehead! If we didn’t know what he was, we might think he was a bloodhound just by looking at his face. It is interesting that the puppies have so many traits similar, and yet are so different based on their genetics. Mixed breeds are the best! And these boys are definitely a treasure box waiting for you to open it up and see what you find! PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. Adoption Process
Begin with an application to adopt. Other pets in household must be spay/neutered, current with rabies vaccines, dogs need to be current with HW testing and heartguard. Fees range between $75 and $300. We follow up on spays/neuters for pets under six months, and the fees include spay/neuter. Contract requires it. Adults are adopted out already spayed/neutered. Pets must be returned to FOAC if adoption ends.
