Meet POLLY

Name: Polly Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 2 years old Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua Mix Weight: About 6 lbs Good With: Dogs and people. We haven’t seen Polly interact yet with cats or kids, but happy to test her out. Story: Polly was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina with Danny. Despite her rough start, Polly is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Polly is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Even though she’s no longer a puppy, Polly will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Polly [Pocket] is a fitting name for this little one. At about 6lbs she is very portable and has done well being carried in a small dog sling and carrier. She was timid at first, and while still a bit skittish, she has really come out of her shell in the past two weeks. She enjoys curling up on the couch with me but also enjoys the comforts of her crate, which she naps in during the day and sleeps in at night. She’s still getting used to being in the crate at home alone. She is partially house trained—if taken outside regularly she avoids accidents and will often do her business quickly. She is on the fence about walks—sometimes she enjoys them and sometimes she just wants to go home and get cozy again! Polly has a playful side in that she hordes her toys and often tires to “bury” them with her nose. It’s very cute! She enjoys toys that have hidden treats, and chews lightly at crinkly toys. She’s curious around other dogs but can be fearful if they come on too strong. Her approach to people is similar, but she is building confidence and adjusting day by day. Polly is a doll and she deserves a quiet, patient, and loving home that will help her feel comfortable and develop more confidence. She will repay you with her adorableness! Color Match: PURPLE - Couch Potato (Internally Motivated) Dog Personality — Give up quickly if they encounter obstacles or a better alternative; these are considered mild-persistence dogs. Adopter Personality — These dogs are perfect for novice dog owners (or families with small children) because they can be relaxed, tolerant, and well mannered. If you think that Polly might be your perfect match, apply today!
