OZZIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Ozzie Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua mix Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of February 2025 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 8 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats but he can be tested if you have them. We would be cautious placing him in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant. Currently Living at: Texas shelter; will come to a foster home in the DC area! Ozzie is Looking For: His forever home! He may be pretty small, way down there at ankle level, but he wants to trot by his humans on his own four paws, exploring the world with them. And then snuggles at the end of fun days together. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed (yours will do, if that's your thing) round out his wish list. Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved for all his days. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application
2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit.
3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
