Meet Benny
Benny arrived at a rural shelter with his sister, Sydney. We'd love to keep them together. Benny is an easy-going guy who likes to hang out with the foster's other dogs and sunbathe. He likes to stay close to his humans and his sister. He is housebroken and a happy sweet boy.
Adoption Process
We have a rigorous process whereby the applicant applies online and is carefully screened to ensure that all currently owned pets have been spayed/neutered and are up to date on vaccinations and on monthly heart worm meds. The applicant provides vet and personal refs and must demonstrate that he/she is capable and willing to commit to the dachshund for the rest of his/her life providing love, neutron, exercise, and appropriate veterinary care, and that a plan is established for what happens if the adopter can no longer care for the dachshund or if the dachshund outlives him/her. A home visit is required prior to being approved to adopt and if all goes well and the match is right, K Kids and the adopter execute an adoption agreement after the fee has been collected. Fees are $350 for puppies, $275 for adult dogs ages 1-7, and $150 for senior dogs ages 8 and older. Then the adopter can take possession of the dachshund. If he/she does not get the dachshund wanted, K Kids keeps the application on file for when a suitable match can be made.
