Meet Abril
ABRIL NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Abril and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (02/23) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring, MD (12020 Cherry Hill Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904)! Name: Abril Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua/Terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 9 months as of Feb 2025 SEX: female Approximate Weight: 22lbs as of Feb 2025; still has a bit more to grow Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen Abril with cats, but she can be tested. We would be cautious placing Abril in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant. Currently Living at: Shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area! Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Abril would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Abril is Looking For: Her forever home! Abril is not that long out of puppyhood and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet. She's eager to explore it by the side of her new family. Sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures they can dream up - yes, please! She'd love to make new pup pals along the way. And to go to dog school so she can show how super smart she is! What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
