BUDDY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Buddy        Best Guess for Breed:   Sheepdog and poodle mix Best Guess for Age:   2 years as of January 2025         SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:  52 lbs   Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We haven't seen this pup with cats or kids but he can be tested if you have them.   Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to escape.   Buddy is Looking For:  His forever home! This sweetie along with his sister Gingie and their mama Mindy landed in the shelter through no fault of their own. He's closed that chapter and is eager to get his new one. The one where he gets his own humans. Where he gets to go on long sniffy walks in the neighborhood, meeting new pup and people pals - and explore the rest of the world! He has all that awesome young-dog energy and needs plenty of opportunities to burn that off. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on his wish list as well. And - see that coat? It's a very high maintenance coat, requiring daily brushing and regular professional grooming. He came into the shelter severely matted - and mats hurt! He'd like humans who get it and take good care of his coat.  But you know what he wants most of all? To be safe and loved for all his days. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship. What do you say? Does that sound like a good trade to you?  What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once this pup has arrived in the DC area and spent some time in foster care. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
