Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

Meet Arnold

ARNOLD NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Arnold and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Jan. 7th) from 12-3 pm at the PETSMART in ALEXANDRIA (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)!     Name:   Arnold                    Best Guess for Breed:   Lab Mix    Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of 11/2023                    SEX: Male  Approximate Weight:   70 lbs. Gets Along With: Other dogs, kids, and cats!  Currently Living at:    DC area foster home Arnold is Looking For:  A family that will give him all the love and care in the world! While he is not as famous as Arnold Schwarzenegger or Arnold Palmer, this Arnold is guaranteed to be in the spotlight and center of attention in your home. He came into the shelter not in the best shape but did great with the FHO surgery so now he's in tiptop shape! Arnold would love to join you at home, snuggled up on the couch, in front of the fireplace…can’t you see it?! He is also hoping to find new doggie and humans friends in his neighborhood and at the park, master the art of Fetch, and maybe even learn how to swim when it’s warmer out! Arnold is ready to join your family – are you ready to make it official? What My Foster Says About Me:    "Arnold is doing fantastic in his foster home and has been perfectly behaved since day one. He may be 70+ pounds he doesn’t let his size get in the way of hopping in your lap and snuggling up with you. He is a huge love bug and loves to just hang out with his people. Arnold is very well-behaved at all times, doesn’t try to get into things, gets along great with other dogs and doesn’t have any leash reactivity. We are continuing to work through his physical therapy and he’s doing a great job of not letting his surgery get in the way of being active and having fun. Arnold has a very calm demeanor and doesn't really ever get hyperactive but does enjoy playing with other dogs. You’re going to love him.
